Painting: Acrylic On Canvas
When you first look it is unavoidable to draw similarities and compare my artworks with Gerhard Richter. While Richard is busy mainly with blurring the form, I am busy with exploring the impression, the light, blurring the drawing and the lines.
At first stage my canvas will remained you of Miro’s paintings. Then I pour colors directly from the tube, trying to replicate the scene, the source image. Soon after I merged those colors with anything available at moment, transparent plastic, triangle ruler etc. I’m looking for an impression, getting closer to works of Van Gogh.
Many times the results are different from the scene, from the image that I was trying to replicate.
Examinations of history and memory, through the conflicting nature of an image’s formal make up and the content it contains, destabilizing the frame of reference are two main forces behind my art. My paintings are narratives of memory and identity into dominant and meaningful representations of reality.
